![]() ![]() I received a few promotions as a scribe (also with pay increases) in a relatively short amount of time, which I loved and used to my advantage for med school apps! Working in OP I got PLENTY of breaks (again depends on the specialty/provider). causing clinic schedule to occasionally change). I eventually went to FT but, as I worked with mostly surgeons, my schedule varied sometimes (emergency surgeries, etc. I typically worked outpatient hours (M-F 8-5) but was PT in college working about 25 hours a week. I got the BEST LOR from one of my main providers and still talk to him today which is so cool to me considering it was a WFH job. You learn SO much, so quickly. □ Then again, the sites I’ve worked for have been extremely busy, so it’s possible it would be different at a smaller location! I’ve also heard breaks are far more common at outpatient practices. ![]() That’s pretty typical from what I’ve heard from others at different locations! It’s difficult even to slip away and use the restroom. Most of my experience is in the ER and we don’t get breaks including for meals. I’m currently working as a “traveling” virtual scribe moving between sites and the pay varies, but is always a few dollars higher.Īs for the hours, those can vary significantly depending on the site! I worked 8 hours shifts at my prior site, but currently work 11-12 hour shifts. While training a new hire, it’s $11/hour.
